An Open Letter to Glen Beck

Dear Glen ~ for the first time in my 69 years I am on a roll in politics! And I know it’s our Lord prodding for me to keep writing to you and talking to anyone I meet about this governments corruption. I did yesterday to the hospital staff while having a two-hour MRI on my spine~ the Holy Spirit inside this lady would NOT just shut up! And I cannot even vote ~ yet! I do believe email to you from the public is being checked for I was having a hard time this past week writing to Fox News.

Glen ~ you need to address why obama does not salute for “Fallen Americans and to the Pride of the American Flag”. Go back to every event he has ever attended as President ~ please check this out. He will bow for Emperors ~ but he had no such respect for the Queen of Great Britain.

Please come on an address obama’s True Faith. One cannot be a Christian/Muslim embracing all religions ~ you are either a Christian or a Muslim. Obama would Never have got into power had he declared this fact: I am of Muslim faith. Obama IS A MUSLIM. That is why NO one in the media wants to talk or check into his background on this topic. And another question: why is his past erased from the internet?

I’d like to see the proof that he is a US citizen with his birth certificate. Also, you could trace back from his passport information on what his status was when he first entered the US. He lived and went to school in a country ~ where you had to be a Muslim to attend.

Where does he go to church now and how often? There seems to be a good deal of unnecessary nervousness on this topic and the media are just too afraid to discuss his “muslim” faith ~ because of political correctness! I’d like to know why Obama is protecting the terrorists from 9/11 and the recent terrorist who shot our troops at Fort Hood.

He does not want to protect Israel and Poland or Europe - he wants to bankrupt the US and then take over the United Nations ~ who have at least 200 dictators who will fall into line. He wants One World Order - One common currency ~ and full control of all peoples.

Many see him as the Messiah - obama is is NOT the Messiah the appointed one! He is anti-christ - could well be the coming anti-christ. Glen ~ you need to act on your faith and bring about the disclosure of his true identity. That is why he is in with Communist countries and these other dictators world wide.

Also, because he is a Muslim ~ this is why he is dithering and has not yet sent any more troops overseas to protect the US and British troops already there. The troops moral is already very low over his lack of action. Please keep harping on this topic ~ he will use “this country cannot afford to send hardly any troops because of our present economy and the Health Care Bill reform” yet it is Obama that has taken this country into debt ~ not Bush.

Our Lord Jesus gave me a clear message this Sunday morning that Glen Back is His warrior for truth and a symbol of courage and defiance during these extraordinary times ~ for this present government is All about power and greed and running this Great Nation bankrupt.

Hopians have attacked at will the basic foundation of an American society and now the backlash is starting to be felt by the Obama administration and to his loyal subjects.

Obama and his visions of Hope is often portrayed as an apocalyptic and seismic break with our White European ideals and capitalistic history. Yet the truth is that it is the culmination and reification of European (and American) history in the 20th century. The United States connection too colonialism have prepared it for a wide range of phenomena associated with Obamas vision of Hope. This is what I now deem as the Hopian regime of the Obama Empire- from Muslim motivated terrorist murders to racial theories, from white European slave owners to the forcible annexation of Capitalism.

Moreover, a inside look at Obama and his Hopian views can suggest that it was innovated by applying prevailing racial theories (usually reserved only-whites) to the black race itself. It started with attacking those that objected to Obamas inexperience as being closet racists and denouncing religious black leaders - a non-controversial proposition - but then expanded them to include Christianity and all other forms of religion that were in contradiction to the of Hopian laws of socialist freedoms.

Hopian - and Fascism, Socialism - Obama and his ‘third world’ ideologies, adopted enthusiastically in places as diverse as Iowa, New Hampshire, and the Carolinas. It was clear by the middle of Obamas campaign that liberal capitalism, communism, and fascism (and its mutations) were locked in mortal battle of ideologies. Obamas mistake was to delusional believe in the affinity between capitalism and Americanism. But this affinity was a part of our collective DNA as a nation - and this affinity enhanced, in his mind, by Americas distrust of corporatism and by the existence of a imaginary common enemy: Capitalist Corporate Greed.

It is no wonder that the Hopian socialist movement has possessed all the hallmarks of an institutional religion: priesthood, rites, rituals, temples, worship, catechism, mythology and now school room indoctrination. Obama has deemed himself a religious ascetic saint and supreme thought provider.

Obama monastically denies himself common White European Capitalist pleasures (or so he claimed) in order to be able to dedicate himself fully to his calling. Obama is a monstrously inverted Jesus, sacrificing his life and denying himself so that humanity should benefit. By surpassing and suppressing his humanity, Obama has became a distorted contradiction and a version of embodiment of the Second Coming.

It is an aesthetic of decadence and evil (though it was not perceived this way by Obama), carefully orchestrated, and artificial. The Hopian view is about reproduced copies, not about originals. It was about the manipulation of symbols - not about veritable atavism.

In short: The Hopian is about theater, not about life. To enjoy the spectacle (and be subsumed by it), Obamas vision demands the suspension of judgment, depersonalization, and de-realization. The cleansing of American Capitalism is tantamount, in Hopian dramaturgy, to self-annulment. The Hopian is nihilistic not only operationally, or ideologically. Its very language and narratives were nihilistic. The Hopian is conspicuous nihilism - and Obama served as a role model, annihilating Obama the Man, only to re-appear as Obama the Saviour.

Obama used ‘white guilt’ and the systematic repression of blacks as a rebellion call against the “old ways” - against the assimilation culture, the upper classes, the established religions, the Capitalistic system, our leading Superpower status. The Hopians took the Leninist vocabulary and assimilated it effectively. The burgeoning movement, a reaction to narcissistic injuries inflicted upon the narcissistic upbringing of Obama . Obama himself is malignant narcissist, as too was Hitler.

The over abundance and self deprecating over indulgences of Capitalism constituted a perfect, easily identifiable, embodiment of all that was “wrong” with America. We were an old nation, with old ‘White European’ ideals that could be eerily dismissed as evil, they were slothful, they were part of the establishment, they were “decadent”, they were hated on religious and socio-economic grounds, they were different, they were greedy, they were morally superior, they were everywhere, they were defenseless, they were credulous, they were adaptable . They were the perfect hated father figure and parricide was in fashion.

This is precisely the source of the fascination with Obama. He was an inverted human. His unconscious was his conscious. He acted out our most repressed drives, fantasies, and wishes. He provides us with a glimpse of the horrors that lie beneath the veneer, the barbarians at our personal gates, and what it was like before we invented civilization.

Obama forced us all through The Looking Glass and many did not emerge. He is not the devil. He is one of us. He is the banality of evil. Just an ordinary, mentally disturbed, failure, and member of a mentally disturbed and failing political party, who lives in disturbed and failing times. He is the perfect mirror, a channel, and voice, for the very reasons why, more than ever, we as a nation have a reason to recapture those American ideals that set us free as a nation, and to reclaim those those ‘God given’ rights that pour from the very depth of our souls.

Obama Discovers Engagement’s Limits

The Obama administration lacks a foreign policy ideology as a matter of ideology. Speaking recently at the Council on Foreign Relations, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton asserted, “Rigid ideologies and old formulas don’t apply.” The torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans — tempered by pragmatism, proud of its ad hockery and willing to consider everything on a case-by-case basis.

But even lacking an ideology, the administration does have a doctrine. The defining principle of President Obama’s foreign policy is engagement with America’s adversaries. Much of the president’s public diplomacy has been designed to clear a path for such talks — expressing respect for legitimate grievances, apologizing for past wrongs and offering dialogue without preconditions.

Six months on, how fares the Obama doctrine? Concerning North Korea and Iran, the doctrine is on its deathbed.

North Korea responded to administration outreach by testing a nuclear weapon, firing missiles toward U.S. allies, resuming plutonium reprocessing and threatening the United States with a “fire shower of nuclear retaliation.” During congressional testimony, Clinton admitted, “At this point [it] seems implausible, if not impossible, the North Koreans will return to the six-party talks and begin to disable their nuclear capacity again.”

The Iranian regime’s reaction to engagement was to cut the ribbon on a nuclear enrichment facility, add centrifuges, conduct a fraudulent election, and kill and imprison a variety of political opponents. Regarding administration overtures, Clinton recently told the BBC, “We haven’t had any response. We’ve certainly reached out and made it clear that’s what we’d be willing to do . . . but I don’t think they have any capacity to make that kind of decision right now.”

The problem is not engagement itself — which was, after all, attempted in various forms by the previous administration. The difficulty is that the Obama foreign policy team has often argued that the reason for tension and conflict with nations such as North Korea and Iran is a lack of adequate American engagement — which is absurd, and which has raised absurdly high expectations.

During the 2008 campaign, for example, Obama adviser P.J. Crowley (now State Department spokesman) argued, “Hard-liners on both sides have dominated that relationship and made it very difficult for the United States and Iran to come together and have a serious conversation.” But can the lack of a serious conversation with Iran — or with North Korea — now credibly be blamed on the previous administration? Obama’s diplomatic hand has been extended for a while now. Fists remain clenched. This is not because some magical diplomatic words remain unspoken. It is because of the nature of oppressive regimes themselves.

Such regimes are often internally preoccupied. Precisely because they lack genuine legitimacy, they spend large amounts of time and effort maintaining their fragile authority, consolidating power and managing undemocratic transitions. North Korea confronts a succession crisis. Iran deals with growing dissent and clerical division. Both tend to make calculations based on internal power struggles, not some rational calculation of their external image and interests. They are so inwardly focused that they do not have, as Clinton said, “any capacity” to respond to engagement. It is questionable in these cases whether we currently have any serious negotiating partners at all.

And the inherent instability of oppressive regimes also leads them to tighten control by invoking threats from abroad — particularly from the United States. Because anti-Americanism is a central commitment of North Korean and Iranian ideologies, any softening of this resentment requires a kind of voluntary regime change. Pyongyang and Tehran would need to find a new source of legitimacy — a new prop for their power — other than hatred for America. Not easy or likely.

The Obama administration’s public campaign of engaging enemies is headed toward an entirely unintended consequence. Eventually it will raise expectations for action. As the extended hand is slapped again and again, the goals of North Korea and Iran will be fully revealed and the cost to American credibility will rise. Already the administration has given Iran a September deadline to respond to the offer of talks and has threatened “crippling action” if Iran achieves nuclear capabilities. Congress is preparing sanctions on Iranian refined petroleum, which would escalate tensions significantly.

This is the paradox of the Obama doctrine. By attempting to engage North Korea and Iran so visibly, Obama is dramatically exposing the limits of engagement — and building the case for confrontation.

Dear Mr. Westin:

As the national debate on health care reform intensifies, I am deeply concerned and disappointed with ABC’s astonishing decision to exclude opposing voices on this critical issue on June 24, 2009. Next Wednesday, ABC News will air a primetime health care reform “town hall” at the White House with President Barack Obama. In addition, according to an ABC News report, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, WORLD NEWS, NIGHTLINE and ABC’s web news “will all feature special programming on the president’s health care agenda.” This does not include the promotion, over the next 9 days, the president’s health care agenda will receive on ABC News programming.

Today, the Republican National Committee requested an opportunity to add our Party’s views to those of the President’s to ensure that all sides of the health care reform debate are presented. Our request was rejected. I believe that the President should have the ability to speak directly to the America people. However, I find it outrageous that ABC would prohibit our Party’s opposing thoughts and ideas from this national debate, which affects millions of ABC viewers.

In the absence of opposition, I am concerned this event will become a glorified infomercial to promote the Democrat agenda. If that is the case, this primetime infomercial should be paid for out of the DNC coffers. President Obama does not hold a monopoly on health care reform ideas or on free airtime. The President has stated time and time again that he wants a bipartisan debate. Therefore, the Republican Party should be included in this primetime event, or the DNC should pay for your airtime.

CIA director says Pelosi received the truth

CIA Director Leon Panetta challenged House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s accusations that the agency lied to her, writing a memo to his agents saying she received nothing but the truth.

Panetta said that “ultimately, it is up to Congress to evaluate all the evidence and reach its own conclusions about what happened.”

Pelosi (D-Calif.) infuriated Republicans this week when she said in a news conference that she was “misled” by CIA officials during a briefing in 2002 about whether the U.S. was waterboarding alleged terrorist detainees.

Panetta, President Obama’s pick to run the clandestine agency and President Clinton’s former chief of staff, wrote in a memo to CIA employees Friday that “CIA officers briefed truthfully on the interrogation of Abu Zubaydah, describing ‘the enhanced techniques that had been employed,’” according to CIA records.

“We are an agency of high integrity, professionalism and dedication,” Panetta said in the memo. “Our task is to tell it like it is — even if that’s not what people always want to hear. Keep it up. Our national security depends on it.”

In the pep talk-style memo titled “Turning Down the Volume,” Panetta encourages CIA employees to return to their normal business and not to be distracted by the shout-fest Pelosi’s remarks created.

“My advice — indeed, my direction — to you is straightforward: Ignore the noise and stay focused on your mission,” Panetta wrote. “We have too much work to do to be distracted from our job of protecting this country.”

In what may be the most critical moment of her speakership, Pelosi is under fire about what she knew of the enhanced interrogation techniques used by the Bush administration and when she knew it.

At the same news conference where she accused the CIA of misleading her on the topic, Pelosi acknowledged for the first time that she knew in 2003 that terrorism suspects were waterboarded. She said she learned that from an aide who sat in on a briefing in February 2003.

For weeks, Pelosi had dodged questions about what she knew about waterboarding and when she knew it. Republicans have called her a hypocrite for criticizing techniques as “torture” when she tacitly agreed to the practices after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. At least one lawmaker — Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) — called on Pelosi Friday to step down as Speaker.

At the same time, liberal groups could question why she didn’t push back harder against the Bush administration. Pelosi defended herself for not speaking out at the time about information disclosed in a classified briefing. Asked why she didn’t co-sign a formal objection by Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.), who attended the briefing with Pelosi aide Mike Sheehy, Pelosi said any objection would have done little good.

“No letter could change the policy,” she said on May 14 at a news conference. “It was clear we had to change the leadership in Congress and in the White House. That was my job, the Congress part.”

Anyone, said T.S. Eliot, could carve a goose, were it not for the bones. And anyone could govern as boldly as his whims decreed, were it not for the skeletal structure that keeps civil society civil — the rule of law. The Obama administration is bold. It also is careless regarding constitutional values and is acquiring a tincture of lawlessness.

In February, California’s Democratic-controlled Legislature, faced with a $42 billion budget deficit, trimmed $74 million (1.4 percent) from one of the state’s fastest-growing programs, which provides care for low-income and incapacitated elderly people and which cost the state $5.42 billion last year. The Los Angeles Times reports that “loose oversight and bureaucratic inertia have allowed fraud to fester.”

But the Service Employees International Union collects nearly $5 million a month from 223,000 caregivers who are members. And the Obama administration has told California that unless the $74 million in cuts are rescinded, it will deny the state $6.8 billion in stimulus money.

Such a federal ukase (the word derives from czarist Russia; how appropriate) to a state legislature is a sign of the administration’s dependency agenda — maximizing the number of people and institutions dependent on the federal government. For the first time, neither sales nor property nor income taxes are the largest source of money for state and local governments. The federal government is.

The SEIU says the cuts violate contracts negotiated with counties. California officials say the state required the contracts to contain clauses allowing pay to be reduced if state funding is.

Anyway, the Obama administration, judging by its cavalier disregard of contracts between Chrysler and some of the lenders it sought money from, thinks contracts are written on water. The administration proposes that Chrysler’s secured creditors get 28 cents per dollar on the $7 billion owed to them but that the United Auto Workers union get 43 cents per dollar on its $11 billion in claims — and 55 percent of the company. This, even though the secured creditors’ contracts supposedly guaranteed them better standing than the union.

Among Chrysler’s lenders, some servile banks that are now dependent on the administration for capital infusions tugged their forelocks and agreed. Some hedge funds among Chrysler’s lenders that are not dependent were vilified by the president because they dared to resist his demand that they violate their fiduciary duties to their investors, who include individuals and institutional pension funds.

The Economist says the administration has “ridden roughshod over [creditors’] legitimate claims over the [automobile companies’] assets. . . . Bankruptcies involve dividing a shrunken pie. But not all claims are equal: some lenders provide cheaper funds to firms in return for a more secure claim over the assets should things go wrong. They rank above other stakeholders, including shareholders and employees. This principle is now being trashed.” Tom Lauria, a lawyer representing hedge fund people trashed by the president as the cause of Chrysler’s bankruptcy, asked that his clients’ names not be published for fear of violence threatened in e-mails to them.

The Troubled Assets Relief Program, which has not yet been used for its supposed purpose (to purchase such assets from banks), has been the instrument of the administration’s adventure in the automobile industry. TARP’s $700 billion, like much of the supposed “stimulus” money, is a slush fund the executive branch can use as it pleases. This is as lawless as it would be for Congress to say to the IRS: We need $3.5 trillion to run the government next year, so raise it however you wish — from whomever, at whatever rates you think suitable. Don’t bother us with details.

This is not gross, unambiguous lawlessness of the Nixonian sort — burglaries, abuse of the IRS and FBI, etc. — but it is uncomfortably close to an abuse of power that perhaps gave Nixon ideas: When in 1962 the steel industry raised prices, President John F. Kennedy had a tantrum and his administration leaked rumors that the IRS would conduct audits of steel executives, and sent FBI agents on predawn visits to the homes of journalists who covered the steel industry, ostensibly to further a legitimate investigation.

The Obama administration’s agenda of maximizing dependency involves political favoritism cloaked in the raiment of “economic planning” and “social justice” that somehow produce results superior to what markets produce when freedom allows merit to manifest itself, and incompetence to fail. The administration’s central activity — the political allocation of wealth and opportunity — is not merely susceptible to corruption, it is corruption.

PajamasTV hasn’t really been in the news since it hired Sam “Joe the Plumber” Wurzelbacher to report on the war in Gaza, but it’s still kicking. Some of its most popular content is coming from black conservative comic Alphonzo Rachel, who sometimes appears as “President Zobama.” He’s put together a music video that is mostly notable for the way it captures the little memes and stories that have been forgotten outside of the deep conservative base.

A little decoding: it is considered noteworthy, and hilarious, that President Obama dispatches political allies who become a problem to him. Indeed, this is pretty strange and no politician has done it before. But since the cliche “throwing [person or thing] under the bus” took hold, conservatives have applied it to anyone that Obama apparently distanced him from, ever.

• The video begins with Rachel running over a TV image of “my white grandmama,” whom conservatives believe was “thrown under the bus” in Obama’s speech on race when he talked about her admitted uneasiness among black men.

• The reference to the “brother in a shack” is to George Obama, the president’s half brother, who lives in Nairobi.

• The lyric about the “magic negro” story is sort of garbled — Rachel says the “New York Times called” Obama that, but it was black critic David Edelstein in The Los Angeles Times. Rachel jokes that Rush Limbaugh was pilloried for citing the comment, but it didn’t really become an issue until Republican National Committee chairman candidate Chip Saltsman sent around a CD of parody songs including “Barack the Magic Negro,” sung by an Al Sharpton impersonator.

EXCLUSIVE: Secret U.S.-Israel nuclear accord in jeopardy

EXCLUSIVE:

President Obama’s efforts to curb the spread of nuclear weapons threaten to expose and derail a 40-year-old secret U.S. agreement to shield Israel’s nuclear weapons from international scrutiny, former and current U.S. and Israeli officials and nuclear specialists say.

The issue will likely come to a head when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meets with Mr. Obama on May 18 in Washington. Mr. Netanyahu is expected to seek assurances from Mr. Obama that he will uphold the U.S. commitment and will not trade Israeli nuclear concessions for Iranian ones.

Assistant Secretary of State Rose Gottemoeller, speaking Tuesday at a U.N. meeting on the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), said Israel should join the treaty, which would require Israel to declare and relinquish its nuclear arsenal.

“Universal adherence to the NPT itself, including by India, Israel, Pakistan and North Korea, … remains a fundamental objective of the United States,” Ms. Gottemoeller told the meeting, according to Reuters.

Circumstances were not right, and a crisis could not be “created” that was dire enough to persuade enough Americans to give up their freedoms to combat the crisis.

Obama is the Communist “Godfather” gone global. Franks, Dodd, Schumer and Durbin “created” the crisis with Fannie/Freddie by blocking every attempt to rein them in from 1998-2006 (it’s in the public records, look it up), Fannie/Freddie crashed in Sept. 2007, taking a few banks and AIG down in the process. The economy had started to adjust and was beginning to show some signs of improvement in Aug. 2008. On Sept 10 2008 McCain pulled 2,2 points ahead of Obama.(RCP national avg Sept.10 2008, McCain 47.4, Obama 45.2) On Sept 11, 2008 there was a 2 hour electronic run on the banks to the tune of 550 Billion, Rep Kanjorski (D) said if the banks had not been closed 5.5 trillion would have been withdrawn and the US economy would have collapsed, and within 24 hrs. the world economy. Thus a “crisis” was created that ensured a win for Obama.

Who but Obama’s Puppet masters George Soros and the 100+ members of the Democracy Alliance have enough money in money market funds to execute such a run on the banks, and tell George Bush and the World, “Go along with our plan for Global Communist Domination, or we will collapse the world’s economy and create Global chaos.

What will be the next “Created Crisis” that will permit Obama to declare a National Emergency which will put his Communist Puppet master Crime bosses in position to rape the worlds resources and people for their personal gain and power.

‘The Birthers’ Continue to Hound Obama

March 1) - Ever since Barack Obama became a prominent political fixture in the country, he has encountered a fair number of rumors and smears concerning him and his family.
There was the one rumor about him being a secret Muslim (he is a practicing Christian). And there was the one allegation his wife, Michelle, was caught on videotape using the word “whitey” (no such clip has ever surfaced).
Most of the charges were, for the most part, put to rest by vigorous responses from the Obama team during the campaign.
But one conspiracy theory lives on — despite overwhelming evidence debunking it.
Politico.com reports that the Birthers — a persistent group of conservatives who believe Obama is ineligible to be president because of alleged questions surrounding his birth status — continue to operate and thrive on the fringe.

This story wont go away because the left does not want it to. They (The Obamabots) must keep kicking at what they see as the achilles of the conservative party… Which would be its conspiracy mill fringe.

I say who cares where he was born… I want to know how he was the only one to come out of the most corrupt political machine (Chicago) in world history, and not be touched or influenced by its politics. Further… I want to know how he can be mentored by Davis and pal around with Ayers and back political leaders like Odinga and not be seriously questioned on that.

The Revolt of the Kulaks Has Begun

The beginning of a protest movement against Barack Obama’s redistributive policies is underway. Though still small, every movement starts somewhere. While called the “Tea Party” after the Boston Tea Party, this movement is similar to movements throughout history where the producers of society refuse to have their property and income confiscated.

This movement can succeed if it does not stop at protest and includes changes in economic behavior. Obama’s redistributive plans require higher taxation, but higher tax plans (to be announced this week by Obama) are based on the fallacy that the “rich” will not change their economic behavior in reaction to higher tax rates.

History tells us, however, that economic redistribution plans fail because the producers of society would rather not produce, than have the fruits of their production taken away and given to others. Obama can raise the tax rates on income, but he cannot force people to generate income to be taxed. People may just say “no.” This resistance will not come from evading taxes, but from evading taxable income. In the end, as must all economic redistributors, Obama either will have to resort to repressive measures, or he will have to abandon his redistributive plans.

The best example of this phenomenon is the forced collectivization of farms in the Soviet Union. At the time of the Revolution, Russia was a largely agrarian society which allowed more productive farmers (so-called “kulaks”) to prosper. Since the kulaks represented a political threat to communism, the collectivization of farming was a focus of communist policy. From the start, the kulaks resisted, requiring Lenin to resort to repression:

Comrades! The revolt by the five kulak volost’s must be suppressed without mercy. The interest of the entire revolution demands this, because we have now before us our final decisive battle “with the kulaks.” We need to set an example.

1) You need to hang (hang without fail, so that the public sees) at least 100 notorious kulaks, the rich, and the bloodsuckers.
2) Publish their names.
3) Take away all of their grain.
4) Execute the hostages - in accordance with yesterday’s telegram.

This needs to be accomplished in such a way, that people for hundreds of miles around will see, tremble, know and scream out: let’s choke and strangle those blood-sucking kulaks.

From 1928-1932, Stalin pressed forward with collectivization. In some circumstances, peasants lost the private ownership of land to the collective, in other instances land owners where forced to give most or all of their production to the state or collective. The forced collectivization was more violent at some times than others, but the consistent theme was the use of government power to force the Kulaks to subsidize less successful farmers and the state (sound familiar?).

“Stalin wanted to transform individual farms into large collective farms because he saw that the government was losing money to private traders. This required that the majority of farmers would have to work and live together on large state-run farms. Through these farms Stalin hoped to increase agricultural productivity, create grain reserves for Russia, and free many peasants for industrial work in the cities. In some cases the collectivization took the form of collective farming, in others forced reallocation of crop production.” (Cite)

But the peasants, particularly the kulaks, refused to submit willingly, despite the promise that the contribution of their property would increase the collective good. “How did peasants initially respond to the idea of collectivization? Party agitators sent to the villages to persuade peasants of the benefits of collectivization often met with skepticism and mockery. Peasants who resisted the pressure of regional party officials to enroll in collective farms were labeled as kulaks; those who feared confiscation sold off their property as quickly as they could, in effect self-dekulakizing.” (Cite)

In response to resistance, Stalin turned to terror. Yet resistance continued. Most significantly, peasants preferred to burn their crops and destroy their property rather than have it taken over by the government.

“But the peasants objected violently to abandoning their private farms. In many cases, before joining the kolkhozy they slaughtered their livestock and destroyed their equipment, The losses, as well as the animosity toward the Soviet regime, became so great that Stalin decided to slow down the collectivization process.” (Cite)

The results of collectivization were food shortages and famine. Peasants preferred starvation and death to property confiscation.

“Peasant resistance to collectivization took many forms: wanton slaughter of livestock, women’s riots (bab’i bunty), theft and destruction of collective farm property, and, perhaps most widely spread, an intentionally slow pace in carrying out directives of the kolkhoz administration. The tremendous loss of livestock through slaughter, inadequate fodder, and simple neglect made it virtually impossible for kolkhozes to fulfill their procurement quotas for meat and dairy products.” (Cite)

Obama and the Democratic-controlled Congress, who are so anxious to raise income taxes on the “rich,” will be in for a rude surprise. There is nothing Obama can do about people who would rather not work than have the fruits of their labors confiscated, or who structure their lives to avoid taxation.

In addition to protest, supporters of the Tea Party would do well to change their economic behavior to deprive Obama of what he wants most, your tax dollars. Invest in municipal bonds, carefully manage your investments to minimize taxable income, do everything possible and legal to insulate yourself from creating taxable income. In so doing, you will doom Obama’s plans because the inability to raise tax revenues will cause Obama to move to more confiscatory tactics, and then the political revolt really will begin, as it has throughout history. Can you say 1994?

Marching toward the ‘ideal’ society

Since Franklin Roosevelt’s election expelled Republicans from control of government in 1932, Democrats have controlled the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives for 31 years; Republicans controlled all three centers of government for only four years during this period. Democrats controlled Congress for 53 years; Republicans held the majority for only 12 years. (Link)

In view of this reality, Democrats are primarily responsible for public policies that have resulted in:
# Loss of manufacturing capacity;
# Decline in education ranking;
# Exploding illegal immigration
# Growth of regulatory compliance costs
# Growth of government

It is neither fair nor accurate to blame all the nation’s woes on Democrats; Republicans provided considerable assistance over the years. But there can be no doubt, that since Franklin Roosevelt’s election, the nation’s public policies have been shaped by Democrats.

Regardless of the label policy makers may wear, what they believed is quite clear from the policies they adopted. Those who have made policy believe;

# The federal government is not limited by the U.S. Constitution. This belief predates Roosevelt, but abuse of the enumerated powers expanded rapidly during and after his administration.
# Government, not the governed, is the source of power, and has the inherent authority to grant or deny rights to the governed, and to take and redistribute the property of the governed.
# Government should manage markets with tax penalties, incentives and permits. A classic example: gasoline is heavily taxed, while ethanol is subsidized.
# Government should manage society by regulating the use of property. In some areas, government limits home building to one per 40 acres, while allowing dozens of homes per acre in other areas.

Individual rights are subservient to the government-defined collective rights. Private homes are often taken by government so government can give, or sell, the property to another private owner who may pay higher taxes – which benefits the collective.

People who believe these are legitimate government activities are more likely to be Democrats, although some Republicans share these views. More importantly, whether Democrat or Republican, people who believe these are legitimate government activities are not capitalists. They are collectivists.

Capitalists believe that the means of producing wealth should be owned and controlled by private individuals or privately owned corporations. Collectivists believe that government must own or control the means of producing wealth in order to assure that society (the collective) shares resources equitably.

John Adams summed up the capitalists’ value system when he said:

“The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and that there is no force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence. Property must be secured or liberty cannot exist.”

The opposite value system is expressed pretty well by Karl Marx, who said:
“The theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property.”

“Collectivism” includes communism, socialism, and other “isms” that put the government in charge of people and in control of their property. Capitalism celebrates the fact the people create government, and are, therefore, its master.

For nearly 150 years, the government created by John Adams and his cohorts was very much the servant of its creators, but this has changed over the last century. Now, government is in charge of the people, and controls nearly every facet of life. Most of this change has occurred over the last 76 years, since Roosevelt was elected. The rate of change quickened during the Carter years, slowed to some extent during the Reagan years, and shifted into high gear during the Clinton years.

Once again, Democrats control the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives and government’s control of people is rapidly expanding again. The so-called stimulus bill seeks to put all medical records into a federal database, and to set up the mechanism for determining which patients are allowed to get treatment on a cost-effective basis.

Way beyond the enumerated powers granted to the federal government by the Constitution is the National Animal Identification System (NAIS). Government is gearing up to register every property that contains even a single livestock animal in a federal database, force owners to identify and tag each animal with a Radio Frequency identification Device (RFID), and report within 24 hours the movement off the property of any animal.

When government controls a person’s most private information, medical records, without regard for the 4th Amendment guarantee of privacy, and when government controls even the movement of animals a person may own, any semblance of capitalism – private ownership of property – is gone.

This is no longer the government created by our founders – of, for, and by the people. It is a government hijacked by the collectivists, for the collectivists, and to hell with the people who still cling to their guns, their Bibles and their capitalist ideas. This collectivist government is continuing the march toward Marx’s ideal society – absolute control by government.

OBAMA WANTS TO DESTROY AMERICA

While doing my job the other day, a co-worker and I began a conversation about our economy. Since the subject was brought up by my co-worker, I let them speak at length… with me just adding an occasional, yeah, uhuh, right… you get the idea. The basic premise that was being put forth by my co-worker is that ~deep breath~ Obama, has really at this point done nothing for the average American worker… now I stress WORKER and not potential or current governmental employee.

What he has done is implemented a bunch of government projects that in some cases end, and in others, produce things that only our government wants or has determined in the best interest of OUR country. You can not export clean air regulated by a government. You can not produce a product that other countries don’t want and for that matter, CARE ABOUT in the first place.

Prime example is nuclear energy. France is the leader in nuclear powered energy. WHY? Because it is cheaper, more efficient and yes… CLEANER than all other energy combined. But here, in the states, we care about the environment, and government regulations make it prohibitive for private industry to even TRY! TO EVEN TRY to produce a more efficient, cleaner way.

Now follow me if you can… If America could find a better way to produce nuclear power, that would be something that other countries would want, NOT GREENER CARS!

Its like the stupid freak n Superconducting Super Collider that they (United Stateds of Pork Gut Spending), started building out there in… what the hell what it… Waxahachie, Texas. After billions and billions of tax payer money and thousands of empty jobs the project was put on hold.

What am I saying… this is what I’m saying. America needs to be producing something other then government mandated jobs and start putting money back into the private sector for real long term job creation that will produce products that the rest of the world wants to buy. We do not need any more governmental regulations that mandate that government money should produce a government product that is only viable in freak’n America.

And another thing… I don’t want me or my children and their children and their children’s, children to own any house that is not theirs. I do not want to take part in a multi-billion dollar bailout of every ass that bought a house they know that they could not afford. Not my responsibility pal. I look at it like this… Every one of us who had enough common sense, and did not buy something beyond our means is being punished for being prudent, cautious… or knowing that 1+1 will never equal anything but 2.

George Soros: International Man of Misery

The term “euphemism” refers to the substitution of a vague or milder term for one that may be considered harsh, offensive or blunt.
Example:

George Soros is a “philanthropist”.

If by “philanthropist” we mean one who creates chaos, destruction and financial ruin for his own personal gain, it’s a perfect fit. Calling Soros a philanthropist is rather like referring to the Nazi block wardens as Neighborhood Watch.

Soros certainly gives lots of money away. But a philanthropist acts to improve the human condition. Soros acts solely to improve the Soros condition. Despite the lofty sounding rhetoric about an Open Society, Soros’ objective is to wreck the United States. Actually Soros never really defines his Open Society. The concept arose in the 1930s with the notion of a moral code based on “universal principles”. After tweaking the concept to suit his own purposes, Soros adopted his own version of an Open Society which would be one in which the US has no power.

Soros was born in Hungary in 1930 to non practicing Jewish parents. His father, a lawyer was able to hide their identities and young George was recruited by the Judenrat to hand out flyers deceptively directing Jews to turn themselves in for deportation to the death camps. Soros later said he found the work exhilarating. Later passing himself as an official’s godson, he accompanied his benefactor confiscating valuables from innocent Jews. (David Horowitz and Richard Poe, The Shadow Party. 2006).

Soros would later tell Steve Kroft on 60 Minutes that he had no remorse about what he had done.

In fact, Soros doesn’t have remorse for much, if anything. In The Shadow Party (David Horowitz and Richard Poe, 2006), Soros is quoted as saying that conscience clouds an investor’s judgment.

Soros amassed his fortune by speculating in the currency markets. He got a lot of attention for tanking the British pound in 1992. More than once, Soros has used his status as an investor to manipulate markets. According to Horowitz and Poe, the great patriot Soros likely sold short after 9/11 when the rest of the nation was being urged to take whatever they could afford and buy some shares of their favorite stocks. Lots of patriotic Americans did exactly that.

To further jeopardize our national security, Soros told CNN that the market would react negatively if the US were to invade Afghanistan knowing his words would cause a global market reaction. Soros has stuck his nose in governments all over the world claiming a philanthropic motive. Yet like day into night, once he’s done, the local economy is in a shambles and Soros is richer.

The Clinton administration allowed Soros to run wild in the dying Soviet Union. The results were entirely predictable. Working in tandem with Strobe Talbott, “Russian Policy Czar” they set about playing games with government funds. Soros reveled in having so much access to the Clintons and fancied himself part of the “Clinton Team”.

According to journalist Anne Williamson, Soros appeared before the House Banking Committee in September, 1999 attempting to explain to stunned congressmen exactly how so many US taxpayer dollars had evaporated in Russia. The Clintons managed to shut that scandal down quickly thanks to their expertise in scandal control.

Soros was actually convicted of insider trading in France. His opinion moves markets. He is one of the most powerful people in the world entirely due to his ability to get other people to part with their money. His tentacles are everywhere. He uses numerous foundations and associations to keep money flowing and spread around. It’s no secret that George Soros is fond of deceit and subterfuge. He is a radical in the mold of Saul Alinsky. For all of the nonsensical blathering he does about how he can make the world a better place, he has no real plan to do any such thing. Soros loses interest in a project after the demo phase is over. According to Horowitz and Poe, Soros candidly admits he finds destruction easier than creation.

Thus it makes perfect sense that Soros is the de facto head of the Democratic Party in America now that it is a foaming-at-the-mouth rabid left wing Democratic Party. As Horowitz and Poe put it: “Soros and his Shadow Party did not invent the politics of demagoguery and racial division. They are merely practicing and expanding the politics familiar on the Democratic Left.”

In 2004 Soros made it his personal mission to defeat George W Bush. Not only did Bush not share his moral relativism and radical ideology, Soros was outraged about Afghanistan and Iraq. Soros opposed Bush’s War on Terror and provides funding to pro terror groups. Worse still from Soros’ point of view, after enjoying easy access to the Clintons, Bush was not equally impressed and failed to seek out his wise counsel on foreign policy.

John Kerry’s loss in 2004 was gasoline on the fire. “This is the Sorosization of the Democratic Party”, say Rachel Ehrenfelt and Shawn MacComber (Frontpagemagazine.com. October 28, 2004). “As we will see, this idea of “scruples” being for the other guy has been central to Soros’ philosophy in business, philanthropy, and foreign policy”.

Although Soros had a mutually beneficial relationship with the Clintons, he knew enough to hedge his bets in 2008 and back more than one candidate. The type of revolution Soros wants requires a charismatic figure that can create a mass movement. Soros himself actually dislikes publicity. Good oratory skills and personal charisma are what he needs. Soros himself prefers to stay below the radar and work his subterfuge behind the scenes. After all, “Soros’ main concern is that somebody be elected who is indebted enough to him to pick up the phone when he calls” (Ehrenfeld and MacComber).

Just the other day, I attended a speech by Peggy Noonan. The topic was presidents. She told funny stories and shared her insights into Presidents Bush, Reagan, Clinton and Obama. Noonan talked about Clinton’s personal charisma, “it was impossible not to look at him”. And his speeches were well delivered but remarkably lacking in substance. Is anyone seeing a pattern here? Noonan sees Obama as more like Clinton than anyone else, not only in his policies, but his presentation.

Is it possible then that Bill Clinton was supposed to fulfill the role of George Soros’ cult leading Messiah but simply failed at it?

Soros can’t wreak his havoc alone. He needs his cult leader.

It’s important to understand that George Soros doesn’t want to “change” America. He wants to destroy it. America in its current state is anathema to Soros. The current Oval Office Occupant is not particularly fond of America either. His association with America hating radicals should be enough for most people but let’s not overlook the fact that his very first sit down interview after becoming president was to al Arabyia News Channel. Obama took the opportunity to share his views with the Muslim world that America has behaved very badly and we can be expected to change our ways so our relationship with Muslims will be like it was “twenty or thirty years ago”. This is a bit perplexing unless Obama either knows less about history than we thought or he longs for the days when Islamofascists led by Khomeini were holding 52 American hostages. I daresay the Muslim world was cheered to learn that our new president plans to take us back to the happy halcyon days of the Carter Administration. Soros is actually working toward a plan to completely overhaul the US Constitution.

When Soros gets hold of power in any government, he makes money. It is difficult to find examples of Soros invasions that leave the target country better off. But that is not Soros’ concern. Obama’s monstrous “Stimulus Bill” (euphemisms again) fits neatly into Soros’ paradigm. You can read Soros’ economy recovery plan on the Huffington Post (February 12, 2009).

For all the posturing Soros does about creating his Marxist Utopia there is no actual plan to create a new social order, an open one or otherwise. Soros, for all of his rambling hasn’t thought it through that far and he is not going to. His interest begins and ends with his potential to exploit whomever he can to grab money and power. He actually makes garden variety dopey liberals rather endearing by comparison. At least some of them believe in their unrealistic vision of socialism.

Keeping in mind that Soros will always act in ways that provide maximum benefit to Soros what are his plans for Obama? It’s clear he found the cult leader he needed. Obama is performing correctly with his daily catastrophizing and power grabbing. But what would benefit Soros more: a successful Obama presidency or a failed one? Success would give Soros four to eight years to work in the Shadows to destroy America and grab what spoils he can. But a failed presidency could offer even more. Obama and his Ministry of Propaganda have managed to create fear and panic in the population. His policies, if implemented cannot but lead to economic trouble and eventual shortages and rationing. Nobody knows more about how to destroy a currency than Soros. We have assumed that the peculiar short selling patterns and over hyped economic “collapse” were staged to get Obama elected. If an inept, inexperienced and radical president has his way, which Obama surely will, the net result is pretty predictable. Is that kind of social and economic chaos designed to open up a power vacuum that a guy like Soros just can’t resist?

Already we are seeing the Socialist, Marxist cogs in the change wheel manipulating away our freedoms and money. Congress and this President have wasted no time from the executive orders to the manipulative speeches and attachments on the ‘stimulus’ bill that insult and betray the American people.

Don’t you love the endless speeches and statements by Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Obama regarding the URGENT need to pass the stimulus bill or our country will go down in heaping flames? Naturally, we all understand the EXTREME emergency choices added to the bill such as $650 million for digital TV coupons; $99,600 for doorbells in Laurel, MS; $3,450,000 to ‘rehabilitate’ sidewalks in Alexandria, VA; $500,000 for a dog park in Chula Vista, CA; $600 million to buy hybrid vehicles for federal employees; and how could we forget Nancy Pelosi’s favorite: $30 million to restore wetlands in the San Francisco Bay region of course to save the endangered salt marsh harvest mouse. There is too much ridiculous fat and nonsense that has been thrown into this rape bill to even mention here. What is the change agenda of this administration and democrats in congress? It is becoming vividly clear already the goal is socialism and Marxism. Freedoms have to boldly go while control has to dramatically grow in all areas for this to happen. Surely no one will notice. After all, half the country wanted change! The other half can be seduced and distracted into silence…….or can we?

Watch the Fairness Doctrine reemerge with a different name and directly attack conservative and Christian talk radio. Senior FCC staff have already been having meetings with policy and legislative advisers to House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman. They are pondering ways to create openings for the FCC to place the Fairness Doctrine back into existence without really calling it that. Freedom loving Waxman is also looking at controlling the Internet. I guess there is too much freedom of speech there as well.

The Fairness Doctrine crowd hides behind “diversity” and “freedom of speech” terms when in reality it is Government censorship and communist behavior at it’s finest. Liberals and progressives have always had the same freedoms to speak and do shows with all kinds of media. They already dominate in the media with NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS on and on. Then there is the endless domination with print media. It isn’t conservative Talk Radio’s fault that the liberal talk radio network has crashed and burned. It is however, most typical that the far left progressives can’t face their business failures but instead must try and murder the competition and promote a dictatorship heralding their opinions and side only.

On the larger Governmental level, this Government wants talk radio muted into silence because they and the Internet are the last real place for freedom of speech where the masses can actually be heard. Talk radio is a grass roots entertainment media where folks and their concerns can still be rallied and directed. That is most threatening to a Government that wants more control and socialism! Watch this fight unfold.

Another cog in this anti freedom train is nationalized health care.

We have seen the beginning of nationalized health care deceitfully attached to the stimulus bill with no national discussion on it. The critical part of this nightmare already is that the language changes the treatment terms in Medicaid and Medicare from what is thought of as safe and effective to “cost effective.” They model their new formula for figuring out this new conditional care on age and cost. They will divide the cost of treatment by the number of years the patient will likely benefit.

Do you all get it yet? That means you are in deep water if you are older!!! Is this not age discrimination and actual denial of needed health care and payment for our baby boomers? Beyond that, is this not another way to assert control over the country and economy by wiping out the greatest generation, the baby boomers who have fought to defend our freedom, constitution and country? Now that they finally enter retirement and need paid medical care, we will thank them for all their service by making life a costly, non-treatment oriented, living hell? Health care control will kill people!

Barbara Boxer, Hillary Clinton and others are supportive of this nightmare. Boxer has asked for a 60-day timeframe for review so the Senate can move toward ratification of the UNCRC. Not really hearing about this on the news, you may be wondering what is the big deal with securing children’s rights. As with the other freedom suck age attacks, this is not what it seems. If ratified, all states and parents across our land would have to submit to international law. Spanking would instantly become illegal. Give a love pat to your unruly child and you could lose your child. Making your children go to your church would be considered abuse if little Joey didn’t want it. The bottom line is that someone in Geneva would run your family, not you!!! Courtrooms would be filled and children would be yanked from wonderful, God-fearing homes.

Once again, you certainly don’t want children growing up with morals, guidelines and parents. The state…..excuse me…..the international community knows better! Parentalrights.org is trying to campaign for a constitutional amendment protecting parents rights from international meddling. I can’t believe anyone in our congress would be for such a betrayal to parents and frankly, children! We need you to help fight with this one!

What else has Obama been talking about with this congress that will suck away freedom?

FOCA, Freedom of Choice act. We can all scream and yell about abortion. To me it is murder at any age, but regardless as to how you deal with this issue, FOCA would force any Doctor anywhere along with even Catholic hospitals to give abortions. It would also trump all state laws rendering abortion or partial birth abortion illegal. Once again, we see a total disregard for states, rights, hospitals rights, Doctors rights, voters rights…..FOCA is evil and communist at its core!

There are too many cogs unraveling our freedoms to cover them all in this paper, but watch for more lies and increased taxes designed to stop global warming and control carbon emissions. Neither of which are real, but instead are excuses for Government control and stealing.

Finally, prepare for more manipulation, regulation, taxation and idiot rules to be thwarted on the gun industry. Watch for persecution against gun shops and gun shows. Further, we will see restrictive, protective devises on guns that are in homes, demonizing certain types of guns and using information like mental health records and medical records to keep people from being able to get guns. This push is already happening. Just research the voting record of Obama regarding guns and who he has appointed for attorney general, Eric Holder. This man is a living nightmare regarding gun control. Aggressive gun control always morphs into place when you are trying to manipulate a republic into a Marxist Government. Freedom doesn’t work but Big Government does.

It’s called Marxism and will eventually be communism if we don’t fight these freedom and constitutional encroachments to the best of our abilities! This is not the time for you to sit and watch. Call your congressperson and senator and follow the issues closely.

Rep. Kanjorski: $550 Billion Disappeared in “Electronic Run On the Banks”

The Capital Markets Subcommittee Chair, Rep. Paul Kanjorski of Pennsylvania, tells C-Span how the world economy almost collapsed in a matter of hours.

At 2 minutes, 20 seconds into this C-Span video clip, Kanjorski reports on a “tremendous draw-down of money market accounts in the United States, to the tune of $550 billion dollars.” According to Kanjorski, this electronic transfer occured over the period of an hour or two.

Kanjorski: “The Treasury opened its window to help. They pumped a hundred and five billion dollars into the system and quickly realized that they could not stem the tide. We were having an electronic run on the banks. They decided to close the operation, close down the money accounts, and announce a guarantee of $250,000 per account so there wouldn’t be further panic and there. And that’s what actually happened. If they had not done that their estimation was that by two o’clock that afternoon, five-and-a-half trillion dollars would have been drawn out of the money market system of the United States, would have collapsed the entire economy of the United States, and within 24 hours the world economy would have collapsed.”

Those things that have already happened, and things that are now in the works, the near panic to get the Stimulus (theft) Bill rushed through, Confirms, for me, that everything must be in place before the elections of 2010, so that the Democrats (socialists) will have solidified their complete control of all branches of U.S. Government.

Then they will exploit the national resources, including coal, oil, natural gas, plus alternative energy sources in order to bankrupt the Muslim Countries, and force
them into becoming a Nation State of the Global Union of Socialist States, With a representative from each Nation State a member of the United Nations which will have
complete global authority. This has been the goal of Communism since it reared it’s
ugly head.

It is not for the good of the people, it is for the “elite ruling class” to exploit the resources and people to gain personal wealth and power for themselves.

SCREENING OBAMA

One wouldn’t know it from reading the Washington Post or New York Times, but some inside the White House don’t think that President Barack Obama hit a home run with his first national press conference last week.

“It looked scripted beyond the scripted part, the speech,” says one former communications adviser, who has been feeding notes and suggestions to the White House team and worked with them on the inauguration. “Every president has gone into one of these things knowing that there were some pre-arranged questions or journalists to be called on, but this one was pretty ham-handed.”

To that end, he says, the White House is looking to install a small video or computer screen into the podium used by the president for press conferences and events in the White House. “It would make it easier for the comms guys to pass along information without being obvious about it,” says the adviser.

The screen would indicate whom to call on, seat placement for journalists, pass along notes or points to hit, and so forth, says the adviser.

Using a screen is nothing new for Obama; almost nothing he said in supposedly unscripted townhall events during the presidential campaign was unscripted, down to many of the questions and the answers to those questions. Teleprompter screens at the events scrolled not only his opening remarks, but also statistics and information he could use to answer questions.

“It would be the same idea with the podium,” says the adviser.

Obama had a teleprompter set up for his remarks last week, before taking questions, but the White House couldn’t use the teleprompter for anything but the remarks, because the journalists were so close to the screens. Further complicating matters, teleprompter copy can’t be easily updated in real time, in a setting like a White House press conference.

DOCTRINE AIR DEMOCRACY

Senior FCC staff working for acting Federal Communications Commissioner Michael Copps held meetings last week with policy and legislative advisers to House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman to discuss ways the committee can create openings for the FCC to put in place a form of the “Fairness Doctrine” without actually calling it such.

Waxman is also interested, say sources, in looking at how the Internet is being used for content and free speech purposes. “It’s all about diversity in media,” says a House Energy staffer, familiar with the meetings. “Does one radio station or one station group control four of the five most powerful outlets in one community? Do four stations in one region carry Rush Limbaugh, and nothing else during the same time slot? Does one heavily trafficked Internet site present one side of an issue and not link to sites that present alternative views? These are some of the questions the chairman is thinking about right now, and we are going to have an FCC that will finally have the people in place to answer them.”

Copps will remain acting chairman of the FCC until President Obama’s nominee, Julius Genachowski, is confirmed, and Copps has been told by the White House not create “problems” for the incoming chairman by committing to issues or policy development before the Obama pick arrives.

Waxman and the FCC staff are also said to be looking at ways to ease the “consumer complaint” process, which could also be used along with the advisory boards.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee is also looking at how it can put in place policies that would allow it greater oversight of the Internet. “Internet radio is becoming a big deal, and we’re seeing that some web sites are able to control traffic and information, while other sites that may be of interest or use to citizens get limited traffic because of the way the people search and look for information,” says on committee staffer. “We’re at very early stages on this, but the chairman has made it clear that oversight of the Internet is one of his top priorities.”

“This isn’t just about Limbaugh or a local radio host most of us haven’t heard about,” says Democrat committee member. “The FCC and state and local governments also have oversight over the Internet lines and the cable and telecom companies that operate them. We want to get alternative views on radio and TV, but we also want to makes sure those alternative views are read, heard and seen online, which is becoming increasingly video and audio driven. Thanks to the stimulus package, we’ve established that broadband networks — the Internet — are critical, national infrastructure. We think that gives us an opening to look at what runs over that critical infrastructure.”

Also involved in “brainstorming” on “Fairness Doctrine and online monitoring has been the Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank, which has published studies pressing for the Fairness Doctrine, as well as the radical MoveOn.org, which has been speaking to committee staff about policies that would allow them to use their five to six million person database to mobilize complaints against radio, TV or online entities they perceive to be limiting free speech or limiting opinion.

But Copps has been a supporter of putting in place policies that would allow the federal government to have greater oversight over the content that TV and radio stations broadcast to the public, and both the FCC and Waxman are looking to licensing and renewal of licensing as a means of enforcing “Fairness Doctrine” type policies without actually using the hot-button term “Fairness Doctrine.”

One idea Waxman’s committee staff is looking at is a congressionally mandated policy that would require all TV and radio stations to have in place “advisory boards” that would act as watchdogs to ensure “community needs and opinions” are given fair treatment. Reports from those advisory boards would be used for license renewals and summaries would be reviewed at least annually by FCC staff.
