I have been wondering when the Obama Campaign was going to seize the moment and start using the Keating 5 against McCain.  If you don’t remember the Keating Five investigation I will attempt to give you the short of it… it was about the Saving & Loan collapse in the late 80’s where McCain and 4 of his fellow senators were charged with corruption with regaurd to their connection and involvement with a couple of biggest S&L’s. 

After a lengthy investigation McCain was one of two senators found to have exercised only poor judgment. This would be like going on an all-nighter with Ted Kennedy and letting him drive over a few bridges on the way home. 

Nonetheless, the availability to use the current economic environment where the storms from one bad financial decision after another hits harder than the last you would think that Obama could get some real mileage out of this… instead he chooses to stick with the more of the same blame game. This is when I started to trying to put the pieces together.

Corruption and politics go hand in hand for a politician.  You got your normal garden variety, that are more about your hate for the other party and partisanship.  But then you get down to the real stuff, like the Keating Five. 

 

Obama made his bones in the Chicago political machine. If you dont know anything about Chicago politics, know this, the Keating 5 look like small potatoes to the Obama campaign especially when you have the likes of Rezko about to cut a deal.  If you are not familiar with Mr. Rezko, ‘click’ on his name and make you’re your own assessment.  If your not so inclined to ‘click’ then you can say that the Rezko situation for Obama is more like a scandal at this point.  If you need a political reference it would be on the same level of the Whitewater investigation that the Clinton’s had to endure but with a twist, Rezko is to Chicago politics and Obama, as Vince Foster was to Whitewater and the Clinton’s.  What I’m suggesting is that Rezko like Foster knows/knew where the bodies are/were buried and the twist is… I don’t think that Rezko is going to be showing up in a national park dead any time soon.

I do believe that Baracks glass house looks like a mansion to him when comparing it to McCains.

Cindy McCain, the wife of U.S. Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona, admitted in a series of media interviews that she became addicted to the painkillers Percocet and Vicodin.  Cindy McCain acknowledged that she had stolen some pills from the American Voluntary Medical Team.  She was allowed to enter a pretrial diversion program and not face prosecution.
 

John McCain, R-Ariz., and Gov. Fife Symington sent their regards by telegram to Joseph ‘Joe Bananas’ Bonanno, retired boss of New York’s Bonanno crime family on his 90th birthday.
 

Vicki Iseman, lobbyist, accusations of some kind of romantic affair that both say they never had a romantic relationship.
 

McCain writes letter to the FCC on behalf of Paxson, a major money contributor to the McCain campaign.  Letter asks for FCC to make a decision on Paxson bid to buy TV station.  The reasoning… process usually takes 400 days, it had gone almost 800 days with no decision.
