As Veep selections go, they are the most forgettable responsibility bestowed upon a presidential candidate.  As for Barack Obama, it will become a historical first and a political bellwether.  Unable to flip-flop around the political puddles created by the storm of summertime Veep speculations, Obama -The Anointed One- will finally be pressed into making a political decision that becomes instantly indelible… the flop that is unflippable. But what will this tell us?

Without doubt it will be a political confidence builder for Barack supporters throughout the land as they can point to a legitimate reason why their candidate is risk worthy. It will also haze over the flip-flopping scenes of Barack answering questions that have him mumbling, bumbling, and fumbling as he searches for the -at the moment- acceptable answers.  This political decision will give us our first true glimpse of what kind of decision maker Barack Obama can be and another part of the Presidential UNSUBS personality can be measured and assessed. 

Without going into the entire CYA (cover your ass) list of possible paternity -Veep- candidates that the Obama campaign has come out with, I will go with what I consider the Trinity of Extremes, and what it can tell us. 

First up, the great John F. Kerry.  Kerry is a DNC and party hack… a known quantity that cannot deliver.  If Obama makes this choice, it will only be because Kerry has had passed the presidential anal examine and the canal is clean.  This is the safe choice.

Next up…  The double-dip into hell.  Hillary Clinton or Joseph Biden.  Both of these choices show that ability to make a deal with the devil.  I do not believe that I need to run through the multitude of reasons why… these folks have enough history to figure this out, but both these folks would love a back door into the Oval office.

Then we got Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine.  Kaine is your middle of the road guy who comes from the same side of the political tracks as Obama.  There is a great deal of similarities between the two that make the inexperienced Obama and his greenness a bit more attractive.  Kaine is very well respected and has a solid short political history.  This gutsy choice bends Obama’s reflection.  It allows the voter to believe in the possibilities of IF, and a vision of HOPE.  Kaine would be the correct choice for Obama.

You as the reader can make you own choices, but one fact remains.  This will be Barack Obama’s clarion call for his political future.
